(1951, Pásztó, Hungary) studied pedagogy first and later, in 1976, she obtained a diploma in Russian and Hungarian at the Lajos Kossuth University in Debrecen. Started her career as a director with the documentary BERLIN AND BACK (1990). Drew attention to herself with her first feature BOLSHE VITA (1996) then confirmed her talent with CHICO (Best Director Award in Karlovy Vary in 2001 and Grand Prix at the Hungarian Film Week 2002). In 2005 directed a TV adaptation of MASTER AND MARGARITA. Since 2003 she teaches at the Film Academy in Budapest.
